Newborn Calf Serum, Heat Inactivated

Atlanta Biologicals brand Newborn Calf Serum (NBC, NBCS) is derived from disease-free animals that are less than 2 weeks of age, and manufactured under stringent collection and processing standards.

Although Fetal Bovine Serum typically is the most effective growth promoter for virtually any cell culture system, Newborn Calf Serum is frequently used as a cost effective substitute for Fetal Bovine Serum for routine maintenance of cell lines and where low antibody concentrations are not critical.

Newborn Calf Serum, Heat Inactivated is treated by heat inactivation where serum is exposed to a temperature of 56

C for 30 minutes under controlled conditions.
