MEM Sodium Pyruvate Solution 100mM

Pyruvate is a key player in the cellular metabolic pathways. Sodium pyruvate can be used by cells as a readily accessible carbon source for energy production and other critical metabolic functions, bypassing the need to produce it biosynthetically from glucose or amino acids. Some cell lines require the addition of pyruvate to culture media since they lack the ability to convert glucose or amino acids into pyruvate. The 100mM sodium pyruvate solution is a 100X concentrate that, when diluted appropriately in culture media, supplies the amount of pyruvate normally found in MEM
culture media (1mM).
